Participation in the Türkiye Photovoltaic Technologies Platform PV Technologies Workshop was held on 23/03/2023. Artecs Susmedhouse gave information to the participants about the Agropv section in the workshop, which aimed to expand solar energy applications. Notes about the workshop are given below:
Dr.T.Yaşar Katırcıoğlu was invited by GUNAM to participate in the Workshop.
1.Prof. Dr. Raşit TURAN (Chairman of the Board, ODTU GUNAM Center for Solar Energy Research and Applications) made a general overview on the purpose of the establishment of TFTP, PV technologies and their application. By 2050, net zero C emission target, energy ratio from sun over %46 (362.4 GWh) TFTP will cover ; information and technology development, Training and education , Dissemination of PV, Create a sectoral Impact open to all stakeholders.
2.TUBITAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan MANDAL mentioned the importance of solar energy usage for global climate change and other energy relevant crises, projecting the EU/Horizon programs. The importance of carrying out the development project with industry and stakeholders openly is very high to have an impact from R&D projects.
3. T.R. Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Dr. Alparslan BAYRAKTAR mentioned the importance of renewable energies, especially solar energy and their PV based technologies to provide energy security not only for Turkey but also for Europa. To minimize the dependence especially to China, the production costs and energy efficiencies should be increased via new PV technologies.
4. Other than roofs, Dual use of the agricultural areas covered with PV panels
5. New technologies and trends for production (ingot, cell etc) and material were discussed as well. TOPCon Cell Technologies can be considered on of the alternative for higher efficiency while having some limitation from the life time.
